1. Who is responsible for your information
VerdanTech Pty Ltd, trading as Veratex Works, of The Willows Office Park, Unit 33-F3 Simon Vermooten Rd, Die Wilgers, Pretoria, 0184, is the responsible party for the personal information collected on this website. Our Information Officer is Dennis Kriel, who you can reach at dennis@veratex.works. This policy explains how we handle your information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. What we collect
- Registration and booking details: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company, yearly revenue range and team size.
- Your choices: whether you agreed to event emails and to marketing emails, and when you accepted our terms.
- Payment records: whether you have paid, the amount, the payment reference and receipt number. Card details are handled by PayFast and never reach us.
- Feedback: ratings and comments you give after an event. We only publish a comment as a testimonial if you give permission.
- Invitations: if you invite a colleague to a webinar, the email address you give us. We use it only to send that one invitation, to avoid inviting the same person twice and to count the referral competition; if they do not register, we delete it 90 days after the webinar.
- Website use: if you accept cookies, Google Tag Manager and analytics record how the site is used, such as pages visited and bookings started. They do not receive your name or email address from us.
3. How we use it
- To register you, confirm your booking and send joining details, reminders and follow-ups for events you signed up for.
- To process payments, issue receipts and keep the financial records the law requires.
- To answer your questions and improve our events.
- To tell you about future events and services, but only if you ticked the marketing option.
4. Marketing emails
We only send marketing emails if you opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply to any email to stop them. Unsubscribing does not stop confirmations and receipts for things you have booked.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Payment and booking records are kept for five years because tax law requires it. You can ask us to delete your other details at any time.
7. How we protect it
Information is sent over encrypted connections, stored on a secured server, and only our administrators can see registration details. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
8. Your rights
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, where we do not have to keep it by law;
- stop using it for marketing.
Email dennis@veratex.works and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
10. Children
Our events are for business owners and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
